MOTOBOT Ver.1（技術展示）
モーターサイクル技術とロボティクス技術を融合したヒト型自律ライディングロボットです。車両そのものには改造を加えることなく、200km/hを超えるサーキット走行の実現を目指して研究・開発を進めています。二輪車の複雑な挙動を高速でコントロールするには、さまざまな制御システムを的確に機能させることが必要です。そうしたチャレンジの過程で獲得し得る高度な要素技術を、先進安全技術やライダー支援システムなどの既存ビジネスへの応用や、新規ビジネスの開拓につなげていきます。

This is an autonomous motorcycle-riding humanoid robot built around a fusion
of Yamaha’s motorcycle and robotics technology. R&D is currently underway
with the goal of developing the robot to ride an unmodified motorcycle on a
racetrack at more than 200 km/h. The task of controlling the complex motions of
a motorcycle at high speeds requires a variety of control systems that must
function with a high degree of accuracy. We want to apply the fundamental
technology and know-how gained in the process of this challenge to the creation
of advanced rider safety and rider-support systems and put them to use in our
current businesses, as well as using them to pioneer new lines of business.
